Tamworth to Toronto… and beyond!
‘Twas the day we had our flights booked! We arose from our beds earlier than I had anticipated. I rolled out of my warm bed, got dressed, and got ready for our big day.
We got in the truck, that was covered in frost, and made our way to Petro Canada in Napanee. Waiting for the Megabus to take us to Toronto. While waiting, I decided to go into the gas station store, and take a look.. but it wasn’t just a look. I bought chips and gummies for grandpa and I on the plane.
We got on the bus sat heavily in our seats, and waited for the bus to stop at Toronto Pearson Airport. As we were making our way to Toronto, we saw a few accidents on the other side of the barrier. We were hoping that the snow wouldn’t be as bad getting closer to Toronto.
We arrived in the out skirts of Toronto, the snow wasn’t bad.. but the traffic was! We were waiting patiently to get to the airport as we’re driving 10 km/h on the 401!
As we started to approach the airport, we saw more and more planes taking off, and landing. We were on the edge of our seats, packing up our bags from what we had out on the bus.
We got to the airport around 10 AM, but our flight wasn’t until 5 PM. You know what that means? A lot of waiting! As we were waiting to check our bags, we walked around a little bit, and then I decided to work on a little bit of school work.
I then packed up my school work, and we went to security. It wasn’t busy AT ALL! We got through security fast, just like how a dog would come from the other side of the room for a treat.
They didn’t find any weapons on us, or they didn’t think they were dangerous, so that was a blessing!
We walked around post security, I found a Starbucks, and got a drink! It wasn’t just any ordinary Starbucks drink. I decided to change my order a little bit. I walked up to the counter where the barista asked what she could get me and I replied:
“Hello! May I please get a Trenta strawberry açai Lemonade, with extra lemonade, light ice, and 2 pumps of vanilla syrup!”
I usually only get a venti strawberry açai lemonade, with extra lemonade and light ice, no vanilla syrup.
She made my drink, handed it to me over the counter, I took a sip, and remembered the Starbucks slogan “that first sip feeling” I thought to myself, “I think I found my new order!” Man was it ever good! I really did have that first sip feeling!
I sipped on the drink for quite a while. We waited to be able to board the plane, that included more walks, more school work, reading, listening to music and of course watching grandpa be himself… which was pretty entertaining.
At 4:30 they called for our zone to board the plane. We got up, showed our boarding passes and ID and walked down the passenger boarding bridge to the airplane. After a few minutes, we were sitting in the seats, 9A, 9B and 9C. I was very excited to take off!
Before I knew it, we were landing on the run way in Vancouver, we were anxious to get off the plane!
Uncle Stephen called as we were waiting for our luggage to come out of the carousel.
We got our luggage, walked up to meet the shuttle. The shuttle came around the corner, and we put our luggage in the back, we got in and before we knew it, we arrived at the hotel. We checked in, got into our room, got into our comfy pj’s. It felt so good after a long day! We soon crashed in our beds not very long after arriving in the room. Peacefully, we slept, and woke up early as we were still in Ontario time!
Now the next morning, we get ready, ready to fly to Bella Coola where uncle Stephen will pick us up.
I am SO excited to see uncle Stephen!
So fun to travel with you!
