We got up on Wednesday, took a shuttle to the main Vancouver airport. I of course was hoping to find a Starbucks for the wait and the duration of the flight, I ended up being successful! I tried a new drink, so I needed to get a small drink to make sure I liked it of course! Soon enough an iced chai tea latte with vanilla cold foam was in my hands! It was delicious!
We took another shuttle to the small south Vancouver airport to board our plane for Bella Coola! As the minutes were getting closer to our boarding time, I was getting more and more excited as the time was coming very soon so that I could see my uncle Stephen! It didn’t feel real!
Now, it was only a matter of minutes.
We feel the plane getting lower and lower, knowing that we were going to be landing in Bella Coola! On the way down, we were admiring the beautiful scenery. I never expected a small isolated town to be this beautiful! I was amazed by the views! I was so excited to explore more!
Looking out both windows on the plane, all we can see are beautiful mountains!
I was amazed!
We landed at the airport, uncle Stephen was there waiting for us, I ran through the airport, out the other side and gave him a big hug! I was so happy to see him. I always have thought very highly of him, and every time I see him, I get so happy.
He gave us a tour of the town, we went to a really nice waterfall, went to his detachment and then came home, and aunt Kylie had lunch all ready for us! While at the detachment I wanted to put my uncles work jacket on that read “ S. Clark” it could stand for Sarah Clark or Stephen Clark, but in this case it was Stephen Clark. Who else needs to know that though?!
We got to the house, and we were very happy to see aunt Kylie, and the animals!
Beemer, when he gets hungry, he will let you know!
Ayce, meows all the time, when you’re sleeping she has no concept of personal space, but love from a cat is nice! But maybe not when she screams in your ear and stands on your chest at three in the morning..
Murphy thinks he is a lap dog, when he is a chocolate LAB! He likes to lay right on your lap, he’s pretty heavy.
Chunky cat- lily likes to be alone, loves food, sleeps a lot.
The next day, Thursday, aunt Kylie made a German pancake! You might think “what in the world is that” well I’m here to tell you, it was delicious!
We didn’t do too much on Thursday, other than just hung around, uncle Stephen had to stay close, as he was on call. Thursday night, uncle Stephen, aunt Kylie, and I went into town and played some pickle ball! It was so much fun! I was getting back into it after a few serves. After hitting it out several times, or serving to the kitchen, uncle Stephen constantly repeated “Gentle thoughts, nice and calm thoughts on the court.”
Friday morning we got up, hung around for a little bit. Soon after a while uncle Stephen asked me if I wanted to go help him work on the boat, so I did! I thought this can be nice uncle and niece time!
Later that afternoon, we decided to go for a little road trip. Well, let me tell you, it was more than a road trip! We drove up this very steep mountain, it was very nerve wracking!
No picture will do that road justice!
On the way down, we got out to look at a very pretty spot, as we were standing there we smelt this burnt rubber smell, it was the breaks. We let the truck cool for a bit, and then started driving again. Uncle Stephen and I were rolling rocks down into the creek from up high, we were having the time of our lives!
Uncle Stephen really enjoys to tease me.. but I guess I do the same!
Going home, we saw a trail head, we decided to go look at it, it was a nice little walk that took us around the swamp, we enjoyed that, as the weather was super nice we had to take advantage of it!
On the other side of the road, there was this huge rock, that was pretty cool, so we had to take a picture!
We started driving towards Bella Coola, we had to get some groceries, and then we would go home. But as we were driving home, we saw a bear! It was so cute! It was just independently eating grass, having a peaceful little journey in life!
Saturday morning, we got up and got ready to to go on the ocean. We got our bathing suits on as we knew we were going to the hot springs! It was so pretty!
We stayed at the hot springs for a little bit, enjoying the warmth!
On the way back to the marina, we saw a whale, three dolphins, sea lion and two eagles! That was such a cool experience.
On Sunday, we got ready to say goodbye to uncle Stephen and aunt Kylie, we dropped them off at the airport so they could go on their vacation.
We then got groceries and came back and settled in, without uncle Stephen and aunt Kylie.
We haven’t been up to too much, I’ve been working hard on homework to keep my “Model student” title.
Today, grandpa and I went on the side by side, up a mountain trail. It was so beautiful! As we stayed on the trail, the elevation grew. It was getting colder by the kilometre! I was sitting in the side by side, taking in all the views, it was spectacular. The mountains shined in the sky, like a bright diamond.
We got home, just before the leafs game, dogs were very happy we were home!
Now we sit back, and hope the leafs win!
